I play online games and am a member of a few gaming clubs. I'm 38. Anyway, the JW I know that played online games also tended to play the variety of card games like Magic the Gathering and Yugi Man. All of these were around when I was a teenager including online games. None of the JW doing these activities cared if they were playing with inactive JW because they also were playing with "worldly" people too. All of it is condemn and I can still remember a talk in the mid 90's on the dangers of Yugi Man and how it can take you away from the preaching work. Their tune never changes. -

by new boy inback to the food..........the saying there was "its the best food in the world before they cook it" the coffee was the really bad.
they would take a 55 lb.
bag of good coffee beans and boil the shit out of it.the joke was if anyone could find the guy that made the coffee, and kill him, our production would go up and armageddon could finally come.

Should doctors tell JW patients that there is disagreement about Watchtower's blood policy.
by Lee Elder inthis has been a controversial issue among doctors and medical ethicists.
i think it basically comes down to the fact that physicians have a responsibility to establish the presence of informed consent.
is it really possible for a person to give informed consent if they are not accurately informed?.

I'm in nursing school, and anytime we would cover culture the JW blood issue would be cover. We had to even role play this scenario. The material in our textbook is quite vague and mostly focuses on respecting the decision of the patient. I'm curious how much in depth knowledge a typical American surgeon would have on JW blood doctrine. -

I grew up in this "religion" in the 80's and 90's and never heard positive comments from non-believers. When I started working people would tell me stories of how the JW cheated them out of money and they aren't to be trusted. Mostly I would hear very negative things and still do today. -

I had a similar experience two years ago, but I'm a few decades younger. I grew up with this JW family I was real close to. I left the organization when I was 18 and had no contact with this family for nearly 17 years. The son of this family died of cancer at an early age of only 58. This family meant the world to me and made me depress for not seeing them because they encompassed my entire childhood. So I reached out and they were happy to hear from me. I was invited over but it didn't take long for the pressure to begin. They even had an elder there that chastised me for marrying out of the truth and marrying a devoted Catholic. If I could do it over again, I would never of made contact. The JW are so indoctrinated that I have to remind me the relationship ended the day I walked away some 20 years ago. -

JW Version Of Spring Cleaning
by JW_Rogue infrom the january study edition second study article paragraph 10:.
we can use the memorial season as an opportunity to look through our wardrobe, our movie and music collections, perhaps even the material stored on our computers, smartphones, and tablets.if i were going to a place where jesus would be present, would i feel uncomfortable wearing this clothing?if i did wear it, would it be obvious to all that i am a follower of christ jesus?would jesus be entertained by watching this movie or by listening to this music?
if he borrowed my cell phone or tablet, would i be embarrassed by what he saw there?as you consider the subject matter of a video game, ask yourself: would i find it difficult to explain to jesus why i enjoy playing it?

I find it so ironic that Jesus rebuked the Jewish leaders of his days of making up so many rules. The JW are by far worst than the Pharisee and Sadducees. The JW's meetings and lit is all about what you can't do. Why anyone would find any joy in that religion is beyond me. -

School was hard for me up to sixth grade. After that the kids didn't care, but it was so hard being a JW from age 6 to age 12. I was the only child in the school sent to the library and was an outcast. Now that I have a family it is nice but my father (not a JW) and mother (inactive JW) won't do the holidays. Xmas was a time of sadness for me. It wasn't about the presents to me.. I just wanted to have the celebration and family gathering we used to do before the witnesses came a knocking. -

African American men statistically have a higher probability for heart disease, diabetes mellitus type two, and prostrate cancer. At his advance age I place a bet on Herd.

What was your ''the last straw that broke the camels back'' moment
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.
if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.
when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.

For me was the realization that this religion had hierarchy just like all other religions. When Elder wives and children are allowed special privileges (such as access to rooms at assembly halls or knowing private information, or being allowed to get away with things others can't) that I knew this religion was no different.
Interestingly I figured this all out at age 15 on the very day I was baptized and left by age 18. Later I learned the rest about the religion on this site.
